Fierce Angel Presents Beach Angel IV out August 30th
Out August 30th at all good record stores and digital download
CD1 is inspired by our favourite places in Ibiza from poolside at Es Vive to Sands at Playa D’en Bossa to dinner with our good friend Khaled at his villa overlooking the port. This year has been one of great change in Ibiza with a farewell to El Divino and some of our most fun friends (you know who you are Mr Bull) getting all grown up and even having children!! One thing that doesn’t change however is the music and this track-listing kicks off with a fantastic cover of the classic “Sleeping Satellite” and is soon followed by Therese taking on the D*note classic “Shed My Skin.” The vibe continues with great new acts Roebuck & Goloka from the exceptionally cool Ilabel. More Ibiza veterans weigh in with great tracks from James Bright and Chris Coco. Finally we head toward the close of the selection with a proper sunset anthem from the Vision Factory and then pick the pace up a bit with Diogenes Fan Club and the perfect combination of Gray, Harris, Kid Massive and Sam Obernik on Home.
CD2 has a definite New York house vibe with many tracks being supplied by our good friend Craig from Shifty Music and the rest being offered up by classic house label Strictly Rhythm. If we were to pick a beach for this compilation is would be Asia. This particular set of tunes was thoroughly road-tested at the stunning Nammos Beach in Bali. During July we were guests of Karma Kandara in Bali and this selection of tunes perfectly suited the stunning jungle vibe and secluded beach. It was the perfect recovery selection after an immensely lunatic night at our favourite club The Sky Garden. The selection begins with the amazing Wamdue Project with “Paths” and continues with Eric Kuppers rework of John Shannon’s “Somewhere.” Further on “City For Sale” is a true deep house classic in the making sitting perfectly with new tracks from Vanessa Daou and Nef Nunez. Three anthems mark the close of this selection Dennis Ferrers piano anthem “Sinfonia Della Notte,” the brilliant new rework of “Blackwater” and the hot new remix of the monstrous classic “Who Keeps Changing Your Mind.”
CD3 picks up the pace with a slice of feel good disco perfect for dancing on the sun-loungers. If we were to pick a beach for this we would probably head down to South America and the sun-drenched Latin vibe of Brazil. Things start out reasonably chilled with Beach Angel stalwart Rasmus Faber with “No More Falling” and moves on with new Fierce diva Melissa Indot and Eric Kuppers rework of “This Time.” Richie Jones mixes up Nikki Richards “Bring The Love” and there is a slice of true classic disco funk from Cool Million with “Sweet Baby.” Further on DJ Neo, Jamie Lewis, Martin Clancy and Pimp N Jam supply more disco flavours as we head towards the close of the CD. Finishing off this selection is a touch of Latin sun from Lleggz with “La La La” and a real disco anthem from Syke N Sugarstarr with So Alive.
So there it is, another compilation lovingly put together and presented for your enjoyment. It’s been a real pleasure to step away from our usual huge anthem material and delve into some less well-known cooler material. Hopefully you’ll have as much fun listening to it as much as we have had putting it together. Elsewhere in the world of Fierce we have released some great albums and EP’s and appeared at some truly amazing venues. There’s lots more to come in 2010 so be sure and keep watching the website and facebook group.
